Australian Patent Issued for Mirari's MASC™ Microwave Technology

The Commonwealth of Australia Patent Office recently awarded a patent to Mirari Biosciences, Inc. The patent broadly covers Mirari's innovative Microwave-Accelerated Surface Chemistry (MASC™) technology.

Rockville, MD – January 26, 2011 the Australian Patent Office recently awarded Mirari Biosciences with a patent which broadly covers Mirari's innovative Microwave–Accelerated Surface Chemistry (MASC™) technology. The patent, number AU10/234,092, is entitled "Directed Microwave Chemistry". Mirari has numerous additional patent applications on MASC™ technology being examined in patent offices in the U.S. and worldwide. The Australian patent is the first foreign patent issued to Mirari. MASC™ technology has promise to become extremely important in accelerating critical biomedical testing and saving lives in many applications around the world.

Mirari seeks to market products based on MASC™ technology alone and with corporate partners. MASC™ can accelerate and improve many applications where biomolecules are analyzed, including; pharmaceutical discovery and development, medical diagnostics, veterinary diagnostics, food testing (such as routine testing of meat, poultry, and vegetables), water testing, agricultural testing (such as for contaminant genetically modified plants on farms), and bio/chemical warfare agent testing.
